About Ryan
Having a passion for film at a young age, Ryan began his filmmaking journey in high school at the Orange County School of the Arts Film Conservatory. This paved the way for Ryan to begin freelance videography for local Orange County businesses, learning to produce and direct videos as an army of one.
As a recent graduate of Biola University in the Cinema and Media Arts program, Ryan has built a strong portfolio of music videos, short films, and advertisements for various clientele. Directing thought-provoking films is his ultimate goal, and his passion for every project can allow you to fulfill your vision for your video.
Through his on-set work as a student, he discovered his love for production sound, which has become his main freelance gig. His experience as an intern on the show The Chosen allowed him to work directly with professional sound mixers, boom operators, and the sound utility. With all this professional knowledge, Ryan continues to pursue production sound.
Besides this, Ryan also has skills in preproduction. His internships at Saddleback Church and Huffman Creative put his skills to the test where he was responsible for coordinating with the teams, filming, and editing multiple videos. Working directly with the production coordinator at Huffman Creative, he acquired industry-standard knowledge about producing films, managing budgets, and coordinating crews.
His love of sound extends into music as well, having produced music and composed film scores throughout high school. From grand cinematic scores to intimate alternative music, Ryan has diverse tastes in music, which is encapsulated in each composition. This also extends into pop music, R&B, EDM, Hip-Hop and more, as he produces music for a variety of artists.
Now Ryan uses the knowledge he has acquired in sound to teach the next generation of filmmakers as a Professor at Biola University all while continuing to sound mix on set, sound design in post, and direct films of his own.
From producing and directing to sound and music, Ryan does it all.
